RICHARD PIERIS & COMPANY PLC  a Company duly incorporated in the said Democratic Socialist Republic  of Sri Lanka under the Companies Act No 07 0f 2007 bearing registration No PQ138 and having its registered office at No 310,High Level Road, Navinna, Maharagama in the said Republic of Sri Lanka (hereinafter sometimes called and referred to as the “Arpico” which term shall  where  the  context so requires or admits mean and include the said RICHARD PIERIS & COMPANY PLC and its successors in office and assigns)

 

1.    Purpose
This Policy is to protect your Personal Data that we collect once you obtain our services by visiting our website, email, social media platforms, mobile app , enrolling to our Survey, making complaints to our help desk,  any other mode of contacting us and any other   privacy rights that are protected by law. 
We expect you to read this data protection policy and compare with any other similar policy and understand our aim of protecting your personal data. 

2.     Usage of your Personal Data
Your Personal Data will be Collected and used within the frame of Law . Initially, to identify, we require your NIC, residence address, Land line and mobile number, email etc. However , when you opted for payment via bank transfer, Credit card, the Arpico may request for registration of Bank details. 

3.     Protecting of your own personal data 
Our Officers will communicate with you time to time by way of Voice, SMS to update and confirm your personal information with our data base after you registered with us. You may protect your personal data when using internet through your device which may leads to Cyber risks.

4.    Controlling authority of your data
The Arpico takes the responsibility of controlling your personal data as to how to process it within the frame of this policy  in line with applicable laws relating to  data protection.

5.    Accuracy of the data
We expect you to furnish us correct and actual personal information to enter in to our system. If there is a change of given information, it is your duty to make changes accordingly and validate the same for accuracy.

If you have given false, inaccurate, bogus data purposely, the Arpico reserves  its right to refuse to include your personal data to the system.

The Arpico do not wish to entertain information provided by you which are relating to any third party and we do not take any responsibility of such information unless such third party authorizes to do so.

The Arpico does not have controls over external/third party links or web pages and therefore do not take any responsibility of such links. We therefore advise you always check such third party policies prior to have access of the same.

 

8.    Unacceptable data
We do not entertain data which affect personality of persons and which are should not be divulge to any other as of its kind of sensitivity. Those are that data relating to any health condition, sexual concerns, beliefs on religion, political, ethical   etc.

 

9.    Categories of data
When you are browsing internet, there can be cookies, advertisements pop ups which appears in the internet time to time. Arpico cannot be held responsible for such pop ups.

• Data provided on location –  We may request information relating to your residencies, access to the premises, approx.. Distance from the nearest Arpico Super Centre or Arpico Daily when you required delivering any proceeds or groceries of any other product.
• Data on Marketing  - We may focus on your purchasing’s and identify as to what brands you prefer to purchase and avoid purchasing. 

 

10.    Frequent usage
If you are a frequent browser of our web page, we consider you as our very valuable customer and we may request further information /data in your personal level to provide products and services as per your way of purchasing pour products.

 

11.    Disclosure of Data
The Arpico is obliged to release your personal data when its required by the Law of the country to do so, or by way of a Court order, Summoned as a witness, Police/CID  warrants, due to any national security, social health.

We are not obliged to provide data which cannot be considered as protected data if such data is already exists in the public websites,

We have taken all prevention measures to protect your personal Data from being unauthorized access, alterations, deleted or  lost, used, or accessed or disclosed. 
The Arpico  is not responsible  for any unauthorized access or loss of Personal Data that is beyond its control.

 

19. The Law governing protection of data 
The applicable law in relation to protecting of data is rights under the PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION ACT, No. 9 OF 2022 [Certified on 19th of March, 2022]

We have a help Desk and assigned an officer from the Company as  the Data Protection Officer  in relation to this privacy Notice.
